New Video Tells Story of $4.23 Million in Local Food Delivered to Wisconsin Communities
A new video series produced by the Wisconsin Local Food Purchase Assistance (WI LFPA)
Program tells the story of two years of impactful food access work, and details how the program
has bolstered the success of producers, food access sites, local supply chains, and community
organizations in Wisconsin.
Since 2023, the WI LFPA Program has delivered $4.23 million in fresh, nutritious food grown by
Wisconsin farmers to all 72 counties and Tribal Nations in the state.
The WI LFPA Program, funded through the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Agricultural
Marketing Service (USDA AMS), was established in 2022 to strengthen food and agricultural
supply chain resiliency, support Wisconsin farmers, and distribute fresh nutritious foods to
underserved communities. As of March 7, 2025, the USDA AMS has canceled the Local Food
Purchase Assistance 2025 Program (LFPA25), previously slated to take effect in June 2025.
The WI LFPA program had statewide impact. WI LFPA delivered food to 254 food access sites
and worked with 289 Wisconsin producers to grow food for communities in need. $3.08 million
in direct payments were made to farmers in the program.
The video was created in collaboration with Scott Fischer Motion and Design. Access the full

Wisconsin’s LFPA Program is a collaborative effort between the Wisconsin Department of
Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection, Marbleseed, The Wisconsin Food Hub
Cooperative, and Wisconsin Farmers Union.
